LETTING GO OF FOOD
By Monte J. Meldman MD*
1. When you feel like eating and the food you want to eat is not in your program, or not good for you
"JUST SAY NO, AND LET IT GO"
2. Let it go... Letting go of the urge to eat and the food you want.
Close your eyes, breathe in and out slowly and regularly. Imagine and then erase or delete an image of the food you want from your imagination..Do this several times. Repeat "Let it go" silently to yourself many times. Drink a glass of ice water. Blow it away. Let it go.
3. You refuse to let it go or you protest and get angry about not getting what you want right now.
4. Practice "Letting Go" Let It Go the resentment, the rebellious feeling and protest. Let go of the protest, anger, and the rebellious feeling, by thinking it through to the bad consequences of getting to eat what you want to eat now. Remember the bad consequences you do not want. Give up the protest, do not eat now, and let it go.
A. If this fails, you lose. Go ahead and eat what you want, even if it is not in your program and is not good for you. Enjoy the food as it makes you fat in the face, fat in the belly and have a big middle aged spread in your rear end. You can always start your eating program again "on Monday".
5. After you let go of the food and the impulse to eat, imagine you are now at your goal weight and size, right here and now. Feel lean and slender. Feel happy that your new clothes fit and you feel proud of your achievement. Looking good. Feeling good. Proud of your achievement. Say, "Way to go. I love me", and, "I am proud of me and my achievement"
6. Gratitude is the attitude. Show gratitude for your achievement by working hard on your eating plan, and eating according to your eating plan. Feel gratitude by continuing to love yourself and feel happy about your achievement.
7. As you continue to work on "Let it go", in eating, and on your fears, and in other areas of your of your life, you are creating a receptor site in your spirit. The more you do this, the more you open yourself up to getting a surprise gift in your spirit that will thrill and delight you and make letting go as a way of life the best skill you have ever achieved.
